Problem Three: Auction

I choose not to buy something. This makes it immediately go on to auction.

Why?

Problem One: Aliens

100 aliens attended an intergalactic meeting on earth.

73 had two heads,
28 had three eyes,
21 had four arms,
12 had two heads and three eyes,
9 had three eyes and four arms,
8 had two heads and four arms,
3 had all three unusual features.

How many aliens had none of these unusual features?

Problem Two: Identity Crisis

What am I?

2. I tell people where they are
3. I’m always with numbers
4. I’m rich
5. I’m a part of a whole
6. I’m edgy
7. I’m curvy
8. I’m a star!
9. I tend not to stand up straight

Problem Eight:I have many tongues…

I have many tongues but cannot taste
By me, most things are turned to waste
I crack and snap, yet I stay whole
I may take the largest toll
I assisted all of the first men
And I will pay them back again
Around me, people snuggle and sleep
Yet run when I am released from my keep
I jump around and leap and bound
The cold man wishes I he had found

Problem Two: Deep Sleep

Detective Sing sat across the table from his friend, John.
John had just come back from seeing a sleep therapist. He claimed that he would be able to cure John’s insomnia forever, if John agreed to spend a week at his “Sleep Camp”. The catch was that the week’s treatment cost “$5,000″.

“But it’ll be worth it,” John said “If only he cures my insomnia. I’ve not had a good night sleep in as long as I can remember. The doctor says it’s because when I go into “deep sleep” known as “gamma sleep” I don’t make the transition to and from REM sleep properly, thus making me wake up, and stay awake all night.”

“He might be able to help you, his theory certainly appears sound” Detective Sing said. “But I don’t believe he is a real sleep therapist.”

Why not?

Solution

Problem One: To Laugh or to Cry?

What is it, then, at which our heart laughs merrily when it weeps,
but makes our heart sad and mournful when it shines too brightly?

Solution

Problem Seven: Sky Drift

I cry when I’m sad
I make loud noises when I’m mad
I send light to the sky
So tell me, what am I?

Problem Six: Sound of Fitness

I’m a ten-letter word, but when I am heard,
It is a surprise, but I’m half that size.

My first sound is found when half isn’t around.
When a pair is amiss, the other is called this.

The second has one where normally two form a pair.
You will get the nod if you look in a pod.

Together, my fifth and third hold music that is heard.
A pair you are seeking, alphabetically speaking.

And the fourth sound, it will be found
If you look where I send, in the middle of end.

What word am I?

Screaming, soaring,
Seeking sky
Flowers of fire,
Flying high
Blue, green, red, gold
Gaze at me in the night
An amazing feat,
I give out light
Eastern art,
From ancient time.
Name me now,
And solve this rhyme.

Solution

Problem One: Sound of Honour

I’m a ten-letter word, but when I am heard,
I have only four, not one letter more.

My first two sounds are neat; a kind of sheet,
That starts with spread, not the kind on a bed.

Of my sounds, the third is what will be heard,
alphabetically, in the middle of modus operandi.

If you want to hear more, then like the shore,
I end at the sea, that’s a hint, you see.

What word am I?

Problem One: An Ingenious Riddle

My first is in ocean but not in sea,
My second in milk but not in me.
My third is in three but not in throw,
My fourth in vow but not in crow.
My fifth is in eight but not in night,
My last is in wrong and also right.
My whole is praise for thoughts or men;
Or women, too, or tongue or pen.
What am I?

Problem Three: Silly Sally

Problem Seven: Mud Hook

I have no limbs, no parts inside,
But two teeth like an elephant goad.
The one who bears me I hold still.
