Literature review: Safety problem for Education
This “Ten Problems for Education in the 2020s” booklet identifies ten relevant areas from very recent contributions put forward at academic level in the form journal articles, conference proceedings and students theses. Ten freely accessible internet references have been selected for each area and direct links are provided at the end of each chapter for own consultation. Our selected references do not intend to mirror ranking indexes nor establish novel classifications. On the contrary, they are meant to represent peer-reviewed, diverse and scientifically-sound case studies for vertical dissemination aimed at non-specialist readers. They will also be able to scoop even more references through the bibliography that is reported at the end of each selected reference.
Without further ado, these are the ten problems that we are going to introduce in this booklet:

CONCLUSIONS — Students directly affected by school violence, disruption, and bullying have demonstrated short- and long-term harm. The implementation of home learning causes some difficulties in relation to the self-regulation of very young children. Longer COVID-19 quarantine duration, infection fears, frustration, boredom, inadequate supplies, inadequate information, financial loss, and stigma are the most prominent stressors for students. When surveyed, student responses highlight a need for more mental health services. In China, the most crucial issue is whether the victims can get prompt and adequate relief. In the United Kingdom, schools and colleges and their staff must follow regulatory guidance aimed at safeguarding children. In South-East Asia, school discipline problems were significantly linked to Grade 8 students’ science achievement. Classes tend to be disrupted more often in the Middle East and North Africa than in other regions, and hostile and violent outbursts in the classroom are more frequent. In the perception teachers from Turkey, school principals’ transformational leadership is needed to be at a high level for school safety. The Italian Ministry of Education decided to invest enormous resources in special desks to promote, in the first instance, higher interpersonal distance in the classrooms to avoid the risk of COVID-19 infection.
