This “Ten Problems for Internet in the 2020s” booklet identifies ten relevant areas from very recent contributions put forward at academic level in the form journal articles, conference proceedings and students theses. Ten freely accessible internet references have been selected for each area and direct links are provided at the end of each chapter for own consultation. CONCLUSIONS — There is a need by elementary age students for education in internet safety. One of the most important components of the professional competence of a future teacher is the competent use of Information and Communications Technology tools in solving professional and teaching problems. E-learning has aggravated the problems of cheating, plagiarism, and violation of privacy. The role of the teacher in the virtual field is further enhanced, and the teacher is seen not only as a facilitator. In order to maintain the regular and permanent development of students’ self-directed learning, they need to be guided correctly by teachers. Without a significantly new approach, we shall not be able to transmit knowledge and control its efficiency. Higher earners, people in higher social grades and people with higher educational qualifications are more likely to learn online and convert that into higher pay. There is a positive and significant relationship between the influence of the development of Information Communication Technology and learning activities together on student performance. The analysis of foreign experience in introducing different types and models of Distance Learning into the university education system shows wide possibilities for its use at local level. Education and socioeconomic status are still the most important factors in digital opportunities.
